A LIFE OF CONVENIENCE: THE INDIFFERENT MAJORITY AND THE WELL TRAVELED RIGHT-HAND PATH THEY FOLLOW: PART V
By Casey Allen
PART V
OF VENGEANCE: THE FULL CIRCLE OF RETRIBUTION
Hatred is the reason for which I have come
To pay back to you tenfold the damage you’ve done
I take it upon myself to deal out such a wrath
If no one else takes the initiative needed to pay it back
My right may be no greater than the next one you’ve hurt
But a hand in these doings is one that I’ve earned
You actions can remain unavenged for only so long
Before you must be put back in the place in which you belong
Vigilante I may be and the title suits me quite well
I derive much more satisfaction out of dealing with you myself
You have the right to remain silent
Anything you say will not change what you’ve done
You have the right to repent
When the faces of those you’ve tormented manifest as one
You have the right to look upwards and pray
But I’ll be the only one to hear what you say
You have the right to take your punishment with pride
To hold you head high and look your avenger in the eyes
Foolish was he who has forgiven your trespasses
And she who said nothing of your unwanted advances
Pathetic where those who granted you passage out of fear
In the names of them all is the reason I’m here
Your conscious appears as your judgment draws near
Your desperation allows you to see things so clear
Now suddenly as your moments of clarity end
You wish nothing more than the chance to make amends
You must make them to me for I cannot trust it to last
When nothing of the sort has been the way of your past
One day soon I would not be surprised
If on a seemingly normal and unsuspecting night
Somebody came to take their vengeance upon me
For whatever I’ve done to cause them such grief
And such is the way of the life that we live
Sometimes the vengeance you get is the vengeance you give
I’ll have the right to remain silent
Anything I say will not change what I’ve done
I’ll have the right to repent
When the faces of those I have tormented manifest as one
I will refuse my right to look upwards and pray
For they’ll be the only one to hear what I say
I’ll have the right to take my punishment with pride
To hold my head high and look my avenger in the eyes
