Imagine the greatest battle of your life. Imagine having to overcome your greatest obstacles and fears. Addiction is just that. For many addicts, the depth and despair of their disease can be limitless. The fortunate few who do recover are some of the strongest individuals alive. Addiction is dark, engrossing and consuming. It's a deeply rooted demon, whose hunger can never be satiated. In active addition, nothing is more powerful than the craving to use. In recovery, nothing is more powerful than the desire to live. Recovery is filled with hope, gratitude and grace.  My purpose in life has never been greater. We do recover!
